Stanford Researchers Compute Grazing Rates on Coral and Temperate Rocky Reefs

By using the control volume approach and carefully integrating physical and biological sampling, a team of researchers including COS’ Brock WoodsonStephen MonismithJeff Koseff, and Fiorenza Micheli are tackling the computation of grazing rates on coral and temperate rocky reefs. The team recently completed Phase I in Eilat, Israel in the Gulf of Aqaba in partnership with colleagues at the Interuniversity Institute of Marine Science and Scripps Oceanographic Institute. Phase II will take place at Hopkins Marine Station in Monterey, Calif. in September. Take a look at the project's website here, and stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
